Joining BITS

When BITS was founded, the internet was still in its infancy, so it was an organisation that you joined via a registration form sent by physical mail along with a £5 note to contribute to any newsletters and operating costs. You got a badge and semi-regular updates (newsletters which you'll find attached on the site) and even the chance to bid in auctions by post! The registration morphed to a digital form as the internet developed, and then eventually we stopped asking people to be members and shared info via the website instead.
So there are card-carrying BITS members out there, our early adopters from when jump drives had only just been developed..
